Under the UDRP, approved dispute-resolution service providers resolve disputes arising from abusive registrations of domain names (e.g., cybersquatting) by way of administrative proceedings initiated by the holder of trademark rights.
All registrars of top-level domains follow the UDRP, which provide that most types of trademark-based domain-name disputes must be resolved by agreement, court action, or arbitration before a registrar will be requied to cancel, suspend, or transfer a domain name.
